Chandlers Ford – Land remediation

We were delighted to have been contracted by Collard remediation to assist them with undertaking the earthworks package at Chandlers Ford near Southampton. The project consisted of the cut and fill of 19,000m3 of class 2 material to formation in accordance with series 600 and the remediation of contaminated materials in accordance with CLAIRE: Code of Practice and the site Material Management Plan which was governed by the Environmental Agency.

This project was completed on time and on budget fulfilling the initial programme for works in 12 weeks. Further to this, Collard were engaged in the installation of multiple variations to assist in the groundworks and pile mat installations and added a further 16,000m3 of cut and fill to enable the Phase 2 of the project for the client.

The close proximity of the nearby river was a concern of the client. However, Collard were able to manage this challenge throughout the project which meant the whole project was delivered without contamination spread and in full accordance with the Material Management Plan.
