Dee Road Fire Station
Amiante have successfully completed the first phase of the asbestos removal project at the Former Dee Road Fire Station.
The works involved constructing fully controlled asbestos working enclosures to four buildings and the removal of Asbestos Insulation Board (AIB)
The project posed some significant challenges, due to the height/location of the AIB, works were carried out from 10m mobile towers which were erected by our PASMA trained operatives.
During these works we had an unannounced visit from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) who carried out an Audit on our paperwork and working practices. After the audit was complete the HSE reported everything was satisfactory and came forward with no suggestion of improvements.
The second phase will start after the Ecology Works have been completed – Working with the client appointed ecologist to find and safely relocate several bat species across the site.
Ecology Works- Working with the client appointed ecologist to find and safely relocate several bat species prior to works starting.
